TeachEngineering offers K-12 science, engineering, and math lessons and activities. Teachers can search by keyword or browse subjects, units, lessons, activities, and sprinkles (short engineering activities). Lessons and activities are aligned to Common Core Math, Next-Gen Science and ITEEA standards and to the standards of the state in which it was developed. Teachers can use Search Educational Standards to find lessons and activities aligned to specific standards.

One of the units, Biomedical Engineering and the Human Body, is a 10-lesson exploration of genetics and the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, sensory, and reproductive systems for grades 4-7. Students learn how engineers care for the human body.

In the lesson, Checking the Surf, physical science students in grades 3-5 are introduced to wavelength and amplitude in transverse (ocean) waves. In an associated activity, students investigate different wavelengths and amplitudes with ropes.

In Android Acceleration, physics students in grades 9-12 collect and analyze acceleration vs. time data using the accelerometer of a sliding Android device.

In one of the sprinkles, Get Your Motor Running (for Informal Learning) elementary students work in small groups to build small electric motors and use them to do work. The plan lists materials needed, all easily collected, and provides images to clarify steps.
